🎯 Objective
The program aimed to raise awareness among students about the importance of having a safe physical and emotional space, in alignment with the principles of POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment). It encouraged self-reflection, emotional well-being, and peer support.
📝 Program Overview
• The session began with a brief introduction to POSH, highlighting its need, significance, and relevance in creating a respectful and secure environment for all.
• Students were randomly divided into five groups and seated in circles to foster open communication and inclusivity.
• A guided deep breathing session was conducted to help students relax and reduce stress and anxiety before the discussion began.
💬 Group Activity: “My Safe Place”
• Each student was encouraged to identify and reflect on their personal safe place—a space or experience where they feel secure, calm, and emotionally supported.
• Students then shared their thoughts within their groups, discussing:
o What their safe place means to them
o Common stressors they face
o Strategies they use to cope with stress and maintain emotional well-being
• The activity promoted empathy, self-awareness, and peer bonding.
🗣️ Group Presentation
A leader from each group summarized the key points of their discussion, presenting insights on:
• The diversity of safe places among students
• Shared challenges and emotional triggers
• Suggested coping mechanisms and support systems
🌟 Outcome
The session was marked by active participation and thoughtful sharing. Students gained a deeper understanding of emotional safety and the importance of creating and respecting safe spaces for themselves and others. The program successfully fostered a sense of community and emotional resilience.
