Time : 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM

The Bridge Programme – 3, titled “Community Praxis – Where Community Meets Practice”, was held on 30 July 2025 at the Conference Hall of CICS College of Teacher Education, in association with IQAC. The session focused on the significance of community extension work in the teaching profession.
The programme began at 1:30 PM with a welcome speech by Vice Principal Myrtle Victor, who spoke about the importance of community involvement for aspiring teachers. The session was smoothly anchored by Aysha Liya.
The resource person for the session was Dr. Afeef Tharavattath, Associate Professor of Natural Science, Farook Training College. His session centered on the deeper meaning of education and community engagement. He emphasized that “a child is not a miniature adult”, but an individual with unique growth needs. He also shared various experiences from his own life, which added depth and relatability to the session.
Towards the end, Dr. Afeef reflected on his visit to Wayanad Chooralmala and connected it to the theme of social responsibility. The programme concluded with a silent prayer and a memorable closing message:
“Be grateful rather than just thankful.”
The session was impactful and thought-provoking, encouraging students to embrace teaching as a profession deeply rooted in community, empathy, and lived experience.
