EDULUMINA 2025 ( BEd Course Orientation Programme)

EDULUMINA 2025
Report
Date : 28 July 2025
Time : 10:00 AM
Venue : Conference Hall
The orientation programme titled EDULUMINA 2025 was held on 28 July 2025 at the Conference Hall of CICS College of Teacher Education, in association with IQAC, to mark the beginning of the academic journey for newly admitted B.Ed. students.
The programme began at 10:00 AM with a prayer by the college choir, followed by a warm welcome address by Dr. Rajeev N.J., Assistant Professor of Mathematics and IQAC Coordinator. The Presidential Address was delivered by Prof. Mohammed Basheer M, Manager of CICS CTE, setting the stage for the day's engagements. Dr. Rages John, Head of the Academic Council and SRC In-charge, offered the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the guests and organizers. A motivating talk on "Shaping Educators" was then delivered by Dr. Muhammed Shihab, Principal of Ansar Training College for Women, Perumpilavu.
At 11:00 AM, the first session kicked off with vibrant ice-breaking activities designed to help students bond and feel at ease. The students were divided into four teams, each selecting a unique team name that reflected their spirit and creativity. Activities such as couple dances and an exuberant performance of the “Bottle Song” brought energy, laughter, and teamwork into the room.
After lunch, the second session commenced at 2:00 PM with a balloon coordination game that encouraged communication and unity among team members. This was followed by a group speech activity, where students confidently presented their ideas with originality and flair.
The day concluded with a reflective discussion on five vital qualities every good teacher should embody:
• Smile, to foster warmth and openness
• Stay Positive, to promote solution-oriented thinking
• Appreciate Everyone, to encourage inclusivity and respect
• Be Thankful, to value students and the profession
• Learn from Failures, to turn setbacks into growth opportunities
This well-rounded programme not only welcomed future educators into the academic fold but also helped them embrace the values and mindset that define great teaching.
