Programme Overview
The inaugural event EDU GENESIS was organized on 21st July 2025 to welcome the new batch of first-semester B.Ed. students at CICS College of Teacher Education. The event aimed to familiarize students with the academic environment, faculty members, and the structure of the B.Ed. programme. It created a warm and engaging start to their academic journey.
Prayer
The programme began with a prayer led by Ms. Meghna T P, a first-year student from the English department
---Welcome & Faculty Introduction
Dr. Shylaja C.V, Principal of CICS CTE, formally welcomed the students with a thoughtful address. She emphasized the institution’s commitment to nurturing compassionate and competent educators and introduced the faculty members.
Presidential Address
The presidential address was delivered by Prof. Mohammed Basheer M, Manager of the college. He inspired students to approach their academic journey with dedication, curiosity, and empathy—qualities essential for effective teaching.
After the presidential address, students introduced themselves and shared their interests and aspirations.
About the College
Dr. Roy John, Assistant Professor of Physical Education, provided insights into the college’s history, ethos, and facilities. His talk helped students gain a deeper understanding of the institution’s standards and academic culture.
B.Ed. Course Briefing
Mrs. Myrtle Victor, Vice-Principal, presented a detailed overview of the B.Ed. programme. She discussed the curriculum, objectives, teaching methodology, and expectations. Her session offered students valuable guidance on successfully navigating their course.
Vote of Thanks
Dr. Rajeev N J, IQAC Co-ordinator, delivered the vote of thanks. He acknowledged the contributions of all speakers, the organizing team, and the enthusiastic participation of the students.
Post-Break Session
Following a short refreshment break, Mrs. Myrtle Victor resumed the session, briefing students on the Philosophy section of the course. She explained its relevance and provided foundational insights.
Optional Class Allocation
Students were then assigned to their respective optional subjects, marking the beginning of their academic engagement and subject specialization.
Conclusion
The inaugural programme concluded at 12:30 PM, leaving the students with a sense of inspiration and motivation for the academic year ahead. The day served as a meaningful and memorable start to their B.Ed. journey.
