Report on Pre-Internship Induction Programme – HEADSTART

The CICS College of Teacher Education, affiliated with the University of Calicut and recognised by NCTE and the Government of Kerala, organised its Pre-Internship Induction Programme, titled “HEADSTART – Learn from the Leaders,” on 20th June 2025 at 2:00 PM at the college campus. The event was conducted in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).
The programme was designed to provide B.Ed. trainees with the right guidance, motivation, and insight as they prepare to step into their teaching internships. It aimed at bridging the gap between theoretical learning and practical experience through the valuable insights of experienced educational leaders.
The session featured three distinguished speakers who have made significant contributions to the field of education:

Mr. Jaisal U, Headmaster, CIRHSS, Mathara, Kozhikode
These eminent educators shared their vast experience in school leadership, classroom management, teacher-student relationships, and the challenges and rewards of being in the teaching profession. Each speaker emphasised the importance of commitment, discipline, empathy, and innovative teaching methods in becoming an effective educator.
Their talks inspired and motivated the teacher trainees to approach their internship with a clear sense of purpose and professionalism. The real-life anecdotes and practical tips offered by the speakers helped students relate theory to practice and better understand the expectations of school environments.
Following the formal session, an interactive Q&A segment was conducted. This provided the students an opportunity to directly engage with the guest speakers. Many trainees raised thoughtful and relevant questions regarding classroom management, lesson planning, student psychology, and handling real-time classroom challenges. The speakers patiently addressed each query with clarity, offering practical advice and encouragement. This segment turned out to be one of the highlights of the event.
The programme was efficiently coordinated by Dr. Rajiv Sir, who ensured the smooth flow of events and maintained a warm and welcoming environment for both guests and students.
The session concluded on a positive and hopeful note, leaving the trainees feeling more confident and well-prepared for their upcoming internship.
Overall, the Pre-Internship Induction Programme was a highly engaging, informative, and impactful experience. It served as a perfect platform for teacher trainees to gain early exposure to the field realities and expectations of the teaching profession. The event was a valuable addition to the academic journey of every B.Ed. trainee who attended it.
