All Kerala Inter Training College Badminton Tournament
CICS College of Teacher Education, Mathra, successfully hosted an inter-collegiate badminton tournament, featuring both singles and doubles competitions. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 15 colleges, with students showcasing their skills and sportsmanship.
The programme commenced at 10:00 a.m. with a warm welcome ceremony. The chief guest, Mr. Shibin Lal, a former Santosh Trophy player, graced the occasion. The presence of Dr. Shylaja CV, Principal of CICS College, Dr Roy John, Physical Education teacher, and other faculty members added significance to the event.
The tournament saw intense competition, with participants displaying remarkable talent. Students from CICS College of Teacher Education participated in both singles and doubles categories, securing impressive wins. Notably, the doubles team consisting of Ms. Nasreen K and Ms. Vaishnavi K.V. won the first prize in the doubles badminton competition. In the singles competition, Ms. Nasreen K secured the second prize, while Ms. Vaishnavi K.V. won the third prize.
The success of the event is attributed to the tireless efforts of the student organizing committee. The programme concluded at 5:30 p.m. with a closing ceremony. The special guest, Dr. K.P. Manoj, Director, Department of Physical Education, Calicut University, distributed cash prizes, trophies, and certificates to the winners.
The inter-collegiate badminton tournament was a resounding success, providing a platform for students to showcase their sporting prowess.
