Student’s Volunteer Meet Team THANAL IQRA
The programme began at 11:00 am with a welcome and introductory remarks by Principal. The Principal Ms Shylaja C V welcomed the delegates and introduced each member of the team. Mr Jamsheer co-ordinator palliative Care unit introduced and talked about the initiatives of ‘Thanal’ under IQRAA hospital.
Mr Zubair motivated our students to actively involve in the pain and palliative service and the importance of serving the society in a beneficial manner. Mrs Naseera a senior volunteer addressed the students and sensitized the student volunteers to the psychological distress faced by the people around us and focused on the importance to faster collaboration with health care professionals and student volunteers. She also emphasised to explore ways student volunteers can contribute to mental health promotion in palliative care setting.
After the session students received increased awareness about mental health promotion and palliative care. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms Shanice.
