International Women’s Day Celebration
Date : 10th March 2025
Organized by : Male Students of Our Institution
On 10th March 2025, our institution celebrated International Women’s Day with a
debate and documentary screening organized by the male students of our institution.
The theme of the event, “Is Feminism Relevant in Present Society?”, aimed to spark
meaningful discussions on gender equality and social progress.
The debate session commenced with an introduction by the moderator, who
emphasized the significance of feminism in advocating for gender justice. The
discussion saw passionate arguments from both sides. Those in favour of feminism
continued relevance highlighted persistent gender disparities in education,
employment, and healthcare. They stressed the need for ongoing feminist activism
to address these inequalities and promote inclusivity. On the other hand, some
participants argued that feminism has already achieved its primary goals and that
further emphasis might create unnecessary divisions in society. However, the
opposing team countered this by stating that true gender equality is yet to be realized.
The debate concluded with a powerful remark: “Feminism is not about creating
divisions, but about promoting equality and challenging the status quo.”
Following the debate, of the award-winning documentary “Writing with Fire.”was
shown . The film narrates the inspiring journey of Khabar Lahariya, a rural Indian
newspaper run by fearless women journalists. It showcased the challenges these
women face in a patriarchal society and their determination to bring about change
through journalism. The documentary’s themes of female empowerment, resilience,
and the importance of amplifying marginalized voices resonated deeply with the
audience.
The International Women’s Day celebration was a great success, thanks to the
dedicated efforts of the male students of our institution. The event provided a
platform for insightful discussions on feminism’s relevance in contemporary
society. As we move forward, it is essential to continue advocating for gender equality, recognizing the progress made while acknowledging the work still to be
done in building an inclusive and equitable society.
In conclusion, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the male students of our
institution for organizing the event, the participants for their engaging debate, the
audience for their active involvement, and the filmmakers of “Writing with Fire”
for their inspiring documentary. Let us remain committed to fostering equality and
empowerment for all.
