Science day Celebration

The Department of Physical Science successfully conducted Science Day celebration on 3rd March 2025. The programme was an amalgamation of innovation, technology, and creativity, making it an engaging and enlightening experience for all participants.
The programme commenced with highlighting the significance of Science Day. The speakers emphasized that Science Day is celebrated to commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect by Indian physicist Sir C.V. Raman on February 28, 1928. This discovery led to a deeper understanding of light scattering and earned C.V Raman the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930. The speakers stressed the importance of science in our daily lives and encouraged students to develop a curiosity-driven approach to learning.
The celebration featured two exciting competitions:
1. Quiz Competition: The quiz competition was an innovative blend of technology and
knowledge. Participants were quizzed on various scientific topics, and their responses were
recorded using cutting-edge technology. The competition was intense, with participants
displaying exceptional scientific knowledge.
2. Poster Making Competition: The poster making competition was themed “Science in
Everyday Life,” where students were encouraged to explore the role of science in their daily
life. The posters were judged on their clarity, accuracy, and visual appeal. The participants
demonstrated remarkable artistic skills, making the competition a tough one to judge.The
winners of both competitions were awarded cash prizes. The prizes were distributed by the
teachers, who congratulated the winners on their achievements and encouraged them to
continue exploring the wonders of science.
The Science Day celebration was a success, thanks to the meticulous planning and execution by the Department of Physical Science. The programme not only promoted scientific awareness but also encouraged students to think creatively and develop problem-solving skills. The department deserves accolades for organizing such an engaging and informative event.
