College Trip- Malabar Botanical Garden
Date : 25th February 2025
Venue : Malabar Botanical Garden
Due to some unavoidable personal inconveniences 3 students could not go for the long trip, so they were asked to visit Pazassi Raja Museum and Botanical Garden on 19th Feb 2025 and 25th Feb 2025. We visited the Malabar Botanical Garden and Institute of Plant Sciences (MBGIPS) in Pokkunnu on 25th February 2025. The trip provided with valuable insights into plant biodiversity, conservation, and scientific research.
The trip explored various thematic gardens such as the Bamboo Garden, Butterfly Park, and Medicinal Garden, where we learned about different plant species and their ecological significance. The visit to the Research Complex and Herbarium helped us to understand plant identification techniques and conservation methods.
The experience was both educational and enjoyable. Walking through the lush green
environment gave us a sense of calm and connection with nature. Observing rare and
endangered plant species deepened our awareness of the need for conservation. Interacting with the staff at MBGIPS further enriched our learning, as they explained complex scientific concepts in an engaging and simplified manner.
This trip enhanced our knowledge of environmental sustainability and the importance of
preserving biodiversity. It was an enriching experience that allowed us to connect classroom learning with practical knowledge, making it both memorable and impactful.
