Annual Athletic Meet “DEPOR"

The much-awaited Athletic Meet was conducted on 6th January 2025 at CICS
College of Teacher Education, Mathra. The event commenced at 10:00 a.m. with great
enthusiasm and excitement. The programme was inaugurated by the esteemed Chief Guest, Sri Ibrahim Cheenika, an internationally recognized athlete. The welcome speech was delivered by the Vice Principal of CICS College, Myrtle Victor, setting the tone for a day filled with sportsmanship and competitive spirit. The event was further graced by the presence of Prof. Mohammed Bashir, the manager of CICS College of Teacher Education, along with Mr. Roy John, Assistant professor the Physical Education CICS CTE. The presence of all faculty members added to the significance of the occasion.
The competition was structured into three groups: Athens, Titans, and Spartans,
fostering a healthy competitive environment among students. Various indoor and outdoor
games were conducted, including badminton, chess, and carroms, allowing participants to showcase their strategic and athletic skills. The track and field events were the highlight of the day, with students enthusiastically participating in the running race, race- walk, discus throw, shot put, and tug of war. Despite the scorching heat, the students exhibited unwavering determination and sportsmanship, eagerly awaiting their turns to compete and cheer for their teams.
The entire event was marked by a spirit of unity, discipline, and encouragement from
both participants and spectators. The dedication and hard work of the organizers and volunteers ensured the smooth execution of each event. As the competitions concluded, the Titans emerged victorious, winning the overall championship with their outstanding performance. The Athletic Meet officially came to an end at 4:30 p.m., celebrating the efforts and achievements of all participants. The event was a grand success, leaving behind memories of teamwork, perseverance, and the joy of sports.
