Frontier Lecture Series 1

The Frontier Lecture Series 1, was successfully conducted on 9th January 2025, at the
Conference Hall, CICS, CTE. The programme focused on the theme “Living and Learning in
India and Europe – What We Learn from Each Other.”
The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Shylaja C.V., Principal, CICS, CTE. The
inauguration was done by Prof. Mohammed Basheer, Manager, CICS, CTE. Dr. Abdul Gafoor
K., Professor, Department of Education, University of Calicut, gave the keynote address.
The programme featured two renowned speakers from Belgium: Mr. Wim Stevens and Ms.
Marleen Vandenberghe, international graduates of TCI (Team Centered Interaction). They
presented insightful topics, including:
- Relevance of teaching jobs
- Culture across borders
- Transcultural education
- Digital dementia
- Growth mindset
The speakers presentations were engaging, informative, and well-received by the audience.
The second session was an interactive one, where students had the opportunity to ask questions to the speakers. The students actively participated, asking thought-provoking questions, which were answered comprehensively by the speakers. The English department conducted an interview session with the speakers, which provided valuable insights into their experiences and perspectives. Overall, the Frontier Lecture Series 1, was a resounding success, providing a valuable platform for students to learn from international experts and to engage in meaningful discussions.
