International Yoga Day was observed at CICS College of Teacher Education on 19 June 2026 in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). The programme was organized in the college auditorium at 10.00 a.m. with the objective of creating awareness among students about the importance of yoga in maintaining physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
The programme was inaugurated by Brahmasree Balakrishnan Swami, Yoga Acharya, Environmental Activist, Spiritual Speaker, Astrologer, Vastu Expert, and Sanskrit Scholar. In his inaugural address, the resource person highlighted the significance of yoga as a holistic approach to health and wellness. He emphasized that regular practice of yoga enhances concentration, reduces stress, promotes inner peace, and contributes to a healthy lifestyle.
The session included demonstrations and practical guidance on various yoga asanas and breathing techniques. Students and faculty members actively participated in the programme and gained valuable insights into incorporating yoga into their daily lives.
The programme concluded with an interactive session, where participants clarified their doubts and shared their experiences. The celebration successfully fostered awareness regarding the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga and encouraged the participants to adopt yoga as an integral part of their everyday routine.
